Based in Florianópolis, Brazil, this platform engineering position supports the backend infrastructure for a leading text-to-speech application that converts documents, articles, and web pages into audio for over 50 million users. The role spans the full lifecycle of API development, from designing new endpoints to optimizing existing services for scale and reliability. Responsibilities
- Build and evolve APIs including a public text-to-speech interface and supporting systems for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption analytics - Maintain and enhance the overall backend surface area, focusing on performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability - Work with B2B partners to tailor backend functionality for enterprise use cases and integration scenarios - Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to keep backend architecture aligned with product goals and user experience priorities
Requirements
- Demonstrated professional experience in backend engineering with TypeScript and Node.js - Production experience on Google Cloud Platform, with working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or alternative cloud environments - Strong prioritization skills and the ability to move from concept to shipped code efficiently - Effective communication and a results-driven work ethic in a distributed setting

- Hands-on experience with Docker and container-based architectures - Experience deploying and operating high-availability workloads on Kubernetes
