This Platform Software Engineer opening is based in Denver, CO and focuses on the backend services that keep a text-to-speech platform running for more than 50 million users. The work spans public APIs, payment and subscription infrastructure, analytics, and authentication, with meaningful input into product direction. Responsibilities
- Build and maintain resilient APIs including the public TTS endpoint and internal services covering payments, subscriptions, auth, and consumption tracking - Continuously improve the backend API portfolio for performance, scalability, and code health - Support B2B customer work, including custom integrations and enterprise-specific adaptations - Coordinate with product, design, and other engineering teams to ensure the backend serves overall strategy - Operate effectively inside a flat organization where strong technical work earns leadership opportunities
Requirements
- Solid track record of backend development using TypeScript and Node.js - Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform, plus exposure to AWS, Azure, or similar clouds - Strong sense of prioritization, balancing urgency with lasting impact - Clear written and verbal communication, plus a high-output mindset
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Docker and container-based deployment pipelines - Experience running highly available workloads on Kubernetes
