About this role
Role overview This Athens-based backend role supports the platform services for a product that converts PDFs, documents, articles, websites, and other text into audio. Its scope includes core APIs, text-to-speech processing, commerce and subscription flows, analytics, authentication, and enterprise-facing integrations. The position is designed for a proactive TypeScript/Node.js engineer who can make sound product and architecture decisions while maintaining a strong delivery pace.
Responsibilities - Design, implement, and maintain dependable APIs, including a public text-to-speech API and internal services for billing, authorization, subscriptions, and usage monitoring. - Review and optimize the complete backend API environment with a focus on scalability, performance, maintainability, and business requirements. - Collaborate on B2B projects by translating customer integration and customization needs into practical, robust solutions. - Align backend work with product strategy and user experience through regular collaboration with cross-functional partners.
Requirements - Established experience in backend development using TypeScript and Node.js. - Hands-on familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or another major cloud provider. - Ability to move efficiently between technical design, implementation, and delivery while prioritizing high-impact work. - Strong written and verbal communication, reliable ownership, and comfort making decisions in a fast-paced setting.
Nice to have - Experience with Docker and containerized deployment processes. - Experience deploying and maintaining highly available services on Kubernetes.
