Role overview This senior iOS engineering position sits on the core product team of a text-to-speech platform used by tens of millions of people to listen to documents, articles, books, and web pages on demand. The role blends hands-on Swift and SwiftUI craft with genuine product ownership, inside a flat, fully distributed startup that prizes fast execution, strong design instincts, and customer obsession.
Responsibilities - Take a leading role in engineering and product decisions that shape the iOS app - Ship production code on a regular cadence within a dedicated product team - Help shape the product roadmap through active participation in planning discussions - Maintain and enhance an established, complex iOS application architecture - Work in close partnership with designers and internal stakeholders to guide the product in the right direction
Requirements - Experience building products that scaled to a large user base - Track record of carrying products from early inception through meaningful traction with real engineering ownership - Customer-obsessed approach, with relentless focus on delivering an excellent user experience - Sound product thinking, with the ability to evolve features thoughtfully and align partner teams and designers - Speed of execution: comfortable generating ideas quickly and deciding what ships now versus what needs more time - Strong focus and self-direction in a busy, remote-first environment
Technical expectations - Solid proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI - Hands-on experience with multithreaded programming - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Fastlane - Practical application of SOLID design principles when writing code - Comfort with Git and an understanding of different branching strategies
