Role overview A globally distributed software team is hiring a Senior iOS Engineer in Madrid to expand the iOS experience of a leading text-to-speech reading product used by tens of millions of people worldwide. The role centers on building inclusive, high-quality mobile experiences for an iOS app that was recently honored with Apple's 2025 Design Award for inclusivity. The position suits someone who thrives in a flat, fast-paced organization that values both technical depth and product intuition.
Responsibilities - Take ownership of key engineering and product calls within the iOS codebase - Ship features and improvements in Swift and SwiftUI to production on a regular basis - Partner with a focused product team, including designers and backend collaborators - Help shape roadmap direction through active input on prioritization and design choices - Sustain and refactor a sophisticated existing iOS architecture as the user base grows
Requirements - Background building iOS applications that reached significant scale - Demonstrated responsibility for products from early concept through meaningful traction - Deep proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI - Working knowledge of multithreading, CI/CD tooling, and Fastlane - Comfort applying SOLID principles and managing branching strategies with Git - A customer-first mindset with the judgment to balance speed, quality, and scope
