Role overview This is a senior iOS engineering role on the core product team behind a widely used text-to-speech application that turns articles, documents, books, and web pages into audio. The engineer will help shape product direction, ship production Swift code, and maintain a complex existing app architecture as the user base continues to grow. The work takes place inside a fully distributed, flat organization that rewards ownership and speed.
Responsibilities - Lead key engineering and product decisions for the iOS app - Ship production code on a regular cadence as part of a dedicated product team - Contribute to product discussions that shape the roadmap - Maintain and enhance the existing complex iOS application architecture - Collaborate with design, product, and other engineers to deliver high-quality user experiences
Requirements - Prior experience building consumer products that scaled to a large user base, ideally from inception through meaningful traction - Track record of owning engineering outcomes on shipped products - Customer-obsessed mindset with a focus on delivering the best possible experience - Strong product thinking and the ability to guide designers and internal stakeholders toward the right direction - Demonstrated ability to move quickly, prioritize well, and balance trade-offs between shipping fast and investing in long-term work - Technical depth in Swift and SwiftUI, multithreaded programming, CI/CD pipelines, Fastlane, SOLID design principles, and Git workflows
Nice to have - Experience with mobile release pipelines and app store submission workflows - Background working on accessibility-driven features for diverse user groups including people with learning or vision differences
