Role overview Join a fully distributed engineering team building one of the most widely used text-to-speech reading applications in the world, used by tens of millions of people to listen to PDFs, books, articles, and documents. Based in Berlin, the Senior iOS Engineer will help scale and evolve the iOS app, which recently earned Apple's 2025 Design Award for inclusivity and ranks among the top productivity apps in its category. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys shaping product direction inside a flat, fast-moving organization.
Responsibilities - Lead significant engineering and product decisions for the core iOS application - Ship production-grade Swift and SwiftUI code on a steady cadence - Collaborate inside a dedicated product team alongside designers and backend engineers - Contribute to roadmap discussions and help prioritize features that improve the user experience - Maintain and evolve a complex existing iOS architecture that serves a large and growing user base
Requirements - Several years of iOS engineering experience on products that scaled to a large audience - Proven track record building products from early concept through meaningful traction - Strong programming skills in Swift and SwiftUI - Hands-on experience with multithreading, CI/CD pipelines, and Fastlane - Solid grasp of SOLID principles and Git workflow strategies - Customer-obsessed mindset with strong product judgment and a bias toward shipping quickly
