About this role
Role overview A senior iOS engineering role on a top-ranked, consumer-focused productivity application built around audio-based reading. The position sits inside a fully remote, distributed engineering organization and centers on scaling an established iOS product that serves tens of millions of users worldwide. The role blends hands-on production coding with product thinking, architectural stewardship, and mentorship within a dedicated mobile squad.
Responsibilities
- Ship production code for the consumer iOS application on a regular cadence, balancing feature delivery with stability and polish. - Help steer engineering and product decisions, contributing to roadmap discussions alongside designers and product teammates. - Maintain and evolve a complex existing app architecture, raising the quality bar as the user base continues to grow. - Collaborate inside a focused product team to scope, prioritize, and iterate on new functionality. - Champion a customer-obsessed culture, using user feedback and metrics to guide technical choices. - Support CI/CD pipelines, release tooling, and Git workflows that keep mobile delivery fast and reliable.
Requirements
- Several years of experience building and shipping iOS products that reached a large, sustained user base. - A track record of owning engineering for products from early ideation through meaningful traction. - Strong proficiency with Swift and SwiftUI, including multithreading programming patterns. - Solid grasp of SOLID principles and the discipline to apply them consistently across the codebase. - Hands-on experience with CI/CD infrastructure, Fastlane, and a range of Git workflows and branching strategies. - Product instinct: the ability to weigh trade-offs quickly, decide what ships now versus later, and communicate that reasoning clearly in a fast-moving remote team.
Benefits and work setup
- Fully remote, asynchronous work culture with a flat structure where leadership is earned through consistent technical delivery. - High-growth environment where individual engineers meaningfully shape product direction and architecture. - Competitive compensation within an entrepreneurial, collegiate team atmosphere. - Opportunity to contribute to a widely used consumer product at the intersection of artificial intelligence and audio, helping users with dyslexia, ADHD, low vision, concussions, autism, and second-language learners access written content. - Streamlined interview process designed to wrap up within roughly one week.
