About this role
Role overview
This is a Senior Software Engineer role on the Core Experiences team, which builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs behind a widely used audio-information product. The position is based in the Recife, Brazil area and works at the intersection of product and infrastructure, shaping APIs and core systems that directly influence the user experience across platforms. The team operates within a high-growth, remote-friendly environment that values shipping velocity and clear technical thinking.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product teams to scope initiatives, reduce scope to obtain faster customer feedback, and weigh integration and UX tradeoffs when delivering through the cross-platform SDK - Improve existing functionality with better abstractions and smarter algorithms to deliver outcomes such as faster load times and more accurate content parsing - Build and ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and asynchronous jobs using Kotlin - Design APIs and platform-level systems with simplicity, reliability, and long-term maintainability in mind - Contribute to architectural decisions that shape how product teams build on top of the core platform
Requirements
- Strong systems thinking and a clear preference for simple, end-to-end designs over complex local optimizations - A bias for speed: ability to generate options quickly, prototype, and decide what can ship now versus what needs more time - Comfort operating in a busy, remote-first setting, with sound judgment on when to engage with teammates and when to work heads-down - Proven collaboration skills, including the ability to work constructively with opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers - Hands-on Kotlin Multiplatform experience; Java background is acceptable but Kotlin Multiplatform is the primary stack
Nice to have
- Prior experience building on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Benefits and work setup
- Competitive compensation and a friendly, laid-back team atmosphere - Asynchronous-first remote culture that supports autonomy and deep focus - An entrepreneurial environment that encourages initiative, intuition, and thoughtful risk-taking - Opportunity to work on a product used by millions, including users with learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, low vision, and autism - A role at the intersection of artificial intelligence and audio, one of the faster-growing segments in tech
