Role overview Join the Core Experiences Team as a Senior Software Engineer responsible for the foundational services and SDKs that power a leading text-to-speech application used by millions of people. The work sits at the intersection of product and infrastructure, with a focus on crafting clear APIs and straightforward systems that elevate the user experience across platforms. The role is based in Montreal, Canada, and is well suited to an engineer who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery in a growing organization.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product teams to scope initiatives, reduce scope for faster feedback, and navigate integration and UX trade-offs - Deliver capabilities through a cross-platform SDK that underpins the core listener experience - Tune existing features for quicker loading and more intelligent parsing by refining abstractions and algorithms - Develop cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and asynchronous jobs in Kotlin - Influence the technical direction of services relied on by multiple product groups
Requirements
- End-to-end systems thinking with a strong preference for simple, maintainable designs - Comfort generating ideas quickly and making pragmatic ship-versus-wait decisions - Ability to stay focused in a busy remote team while knowing when to engage stakeholders - Track record of collaborating with designers, marketers, and product managers who hold strong opinions - Practical Kotlin Multiplatform experience (a Java background is acceptable)
