Role overview
This is a Senior Software Engineer position on the Core Experiences team, responsible for the foundational services and SDKs that power a popular text-to-speech and audio-information product. The role is based in the Monterrey, Mexico area and sits squarely at the intersection of product and infrastructure, where API design and system simplicity translate directly into user-facing improvements. The work is remote-friendly and takes place within a high-growth, fast-moving engineering organization.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product teams to scope projects, identify the smallest useful cuts of work, and balance integration depth against UX considerations when shipping through the cross-platform SDK - Improve existing features by redesigning abstractions and refining algorithms to achieve faster loading and more intelligent parsing - Develop and ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and background jobs in Kotlin - Shape platform-level APIs that need to be clear, reliable, and easy for other teams to adopt - Help drive architectural choices that affect performance, scalability, and developer experience across the stack
Requirements
- Systems-thinking mindset with a strong belief that simplicity is a feature and that optimization should be designed end-to-end - Ability to move quickly: prototype multiple approaches and clearly separate what is ready to ship from what needs further iteration - Self-direction in a remote, high-tempo environment, with good judgment about when to collaborate and when to focus independently - Strong interpersonal skills, with experience working alongside opinionated designers, marketers, and product managers - Production experience with Kotlin Multiplatform; Java experience is acceptable but Kotlin Multiplatform is the core stack
