Role overview
A senior engineering role on a Core Experiences team responsible for the foundational SDKs and shared services behind a consumer text-to-speech product spanning web, iOS, Android, and desktop. The position sits at the seam between product and platform work and focuses on designing dependable APIs, simple systems, and infrastructure decisions that visibly improve the end-user experience.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product teams to scope initiatives, trim scope to get faster customer feedback, and weigh integration and UX tradeoffs across surfaces. - Optimize existing flows such as load time and content parsing through cleaner abstractions and better algorithms. - Build and ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and background jobs primarily in Kotlin. - Maintain and evolve a cross-platform SDK that other product teams integrate against. - Operate autonomously within an asynchronous, remote-first team and align with designers, marketers, and product managers.
Requirements
- Systems-level thinking, with a habit of designing end-to-end and a strong preference for simple solutions. - Ability to move quickly, generate options, and decide what can ship now versus what needs longer incubation. - Self-direction and focus in a high-growth, remote startup with many competing priorities. - Collaborative communication skills, including the ability to negotiate constructively with opinionated cross-functional partners. - Production experience with Kotlin Multiplatform; deep Java background is acceptable but KMP is the working stack.

- Prior hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
