Meridian: Full-Stack Engineer (Mid-level)

Role overview A mid-level full-stack engineering role building a next-generation data management and AI platform for maritime domain awareness on a small, fast-moving team. The work spans UI components, real-time and historical data visualization, data modeling, pipeline development, and integration of machine learning models. The role is remote, with collaboration happening in real time and asynchronously.

Responsibilities - Build application components and pages across the full stack. - Implement historical and real-time data feeds using WebGPU-based rendering. - Design and develop data models with Postgres and Apache Iceberg. - Modify real-time data pipelines using MQTT and Redpanda, and offline pipelines with Dagster for batch processing. - Integrate machine learning models and other algorithms into the application. - Improve local development and CI/CD workflows using modern tooling and GitHub Actions.

Requirements - Strong expertise in TypeScript and CSS, including TailwindCSS. - Experience with React and modern frontend frameworks such as Next.js, plus state management patterns like React Context. - Proficiency with Node.js, GraphQL, and REST APIs, alongside SQL and PostgreSQL. - Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, plus Python. - Pride in polish, correctness, performance, depth of understanding, and teaching others. - Comfort working in a small team wearing many hats and shipping frequently rather than on long, irrelevant timelines.

Nice to have - Experience with IoT devices and sensors. - Background in digital signal processing. - Geospatial analysis and GIS experience. - Familiarity working in monorepos.
