About this role
Role overview Join an autonomous and unmanned systems delivery team as a senior full-stack engineer focused on integrating Fleet Management and Edge Management capabilities aboard unmanned systems operating in distributed and disconnected environments. The work centers on complex, data-driven interfaces that let users understand, manage, and operate distributed systems across edge and remote settings, functioning as operational control surfaces rather than simple CRUD apps.
Responsibilities - Deliver interfaces for managing individual assets and large fleets of autonomous and unmanned systems. - Design and implement data-rich UIs that reflect real-time and distributed system state. - Develop workflows with stakeholders for deploying, updating, and monitoring systems across edge, remote, and disconnected environments. - Handle complex state management and asynchronous data flows. - Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs, platform services, and communications technologies. - Improve usability and clarity for technically complex operational workflows in partnership with UX. - Implement infrastructure as code and contribute to building and maintaining Kubernetes clusters across multiple distributions. - Apply secure software development practices and cloud-native deployment methodologies, including vulnerability remediation and infrastructure automation.
Requirements - 5+ years of frontend or full-stack software development experience. - Strong proficiency with modern frontend frameworks, preferably Svelte or React, with Angular or similar accepted. - Strong familiarity with modern frontend tooling and build systems plus the ability to translate complex system behavior into intuitive experiences. - Strong programming skills and deep familiarity with Linux or Unix operating systems. - Experience developing and integrating software with backend APIs, platform services, and communications technologies. - Demonstrated expertise across multiple knowledge domains with deep experience in areas such as full-stack development, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitOps, AWS, Go, or similar modern practices. - US citizenship required.
Nice to have - Experience with mesh, satellite, or other distributed communications technologies. - Experience integrating software aboard autonomous or unmanned systems. - Experience designing for constrained, disconnected, or unreliable network environments. - Experience working with Special Operations or other Department of Defense mission customers. - Experience building interfaces for infrastructure, DevOps, or platform systems, plus familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD pipelines, and distributed systems concepts. - Contributions to open-source or developer tooling projects.
Benefits and work setup - Remote within the United States with travel expected 4-12 times per year. - Compensation range of $148,750 to $201,250 USD based on experience and national benchmarks.
