Role overview A Barcelona-based mobile game studio is looking for a Principal Game Data Analyst to serve as a senior partner to its game teams. The role focuses on turning quantitative insights into product strategy that improves player experience and grows the business. Beyond hands-on analysis, the position carries an expectation of mentoring analysts and championing a data-informed culture across the studio.
Responsibilities - Help shape data-driven strategy for top-performing games, influencing roadmaps, feature decisions, and monetization. - Work with cross-functional partners to analyze player behavior, economy patterns, and product performance metrics. - Design A/B tests and build predictive models around churn, lifetime value, and segmentation to forecast outcomes. - Mentor analysts and present insights to senior leadership through clear storytelling and dashboards. - Contribute to data infrastructure improvements and promote experimentation best practices across teams.
Requirements - Several years of experience in analytics or data science, ideally within gaming, mobile, or digital products. - Strong product and business intuition, with a track record of prioritizing what matters most. - Solid experience with A/B testing, causal inference, and experimentation design. - Strong applied statistics background; Bayesian methods are a plus. - Expert proficiency in SQL and Python. - Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences. - Hands-on experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
Nice to have - Prior mentoring or team-leadership experience. - Comfort working in fast-paced, iterative environments.
