Senior DevSecOps Engineer

Role overview A federal healthcare initiative is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to lead the design and automation of a secure AWS cloud platform that processes large volumes of provider data. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership across infrastructure, pipelines, and compliance for a CMS-aligned program.

Responsibilities - Architect and maintain AWS infrastructure, environments, and Infrastructure as Code for scalable, highly available operations. - Lead the development of CI/CD pipelines that integrate automated testing, security scanning, quality gates, and compliance checks. - Drive security operations including vulnerability management, configuration review, incident response, and ATO/audit support under FISMA and NIST. - Oversee observability for data pipelines, batch jobs, and APIs through dashboards, metrics, and alerts. - Collaborate with solution architects, data engineers, data scientists, and security teams to embed DevSecOps practices across the delivery lifecycle. - Mentor peers and contribute to Agile planning, technical documentation, and runbooks.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related discipline. - 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or DevSecOps, including 3+ years building CI/CD pipelines. - AWS expertise, IaC proficiency (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent), and strong troubleshooting skills. - Experience securing systems in federal or highly regulated environments and Public Trust clearance eligibility. - US residency for 3 of the last 5 years.

Nice to have - Background supporting CMS, HHS, or federal healthcare data systems; FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 familiarity. - Docker and Kubernetes experience plus services like Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, Glue, and CloudWatch. - SAFe Agile exposure, Python automation, and an active AWS Certification.
