Role overview
This junior-level position supports the provisioning, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance of cloud and infrastructure resources across multiple environments that serve public-sector and government clients. The role combines day-to-day operational support with hands-on work on container platforms, automation, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives, contributing to platform reliability and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Assist with provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud and infrastructure resources across several environments. - Monitor system health, availability, and performance, and help troubleshoot infrastructure issues. - Support cloud deployments, environment builds, and integration of infrastructure components. - Help administer Kubernetes-based platforms and other containerized environments. - Participate in patching, updates, configuration management, and routine system maintenance. - Contribute to infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code efforts. - Take part in incident response, root cause analysis, and operational support activities. - Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and configuration records. - Work with DevOps, Security, Application Development, and Operations teams to keep platforms stable and ready.
Requirements
- Three or more years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or a related technical role. - Hands-on experience supporting cloud-based and enterprise infrastructure environments. - Working knowledge of Kubernetes or another container orchestration platform. - Understanding of infrastructure architecture concepts including networking, storage, and compute. - Familiarity with automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code concepts. - Experience troubleshooting infrastructure and cloud-related problems. - Comfort working within Agile teams and operational support environments. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. - Must have lived in the United States for three of the past five years. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting federal, healthcare, or CMS-related systems. - Familiarity with AWS cloud services. - Exposure to container platforms such as OpenShift or Docker in addition to Kubernetes. - Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other infrastructure-as-code tools. - Background in CI/CD pipelines and broader DevOps practices. - Familiarity with cloud monitoring, logging, and observability solutions. - Understanding of cloud security and identity management concepts.
