Role overview
The position centers on keeping AWS infrastructure stable, secure, and highly available for applications that serve public-sector clients. It blends cloud architecture, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps engineering inside an Agile, multi-team delivery environment, with a strong emphasis on automation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain AWS infrastructure, including Organizations, account topology, VPCs, subnets, and segmentation strategies. - Monitor, automate, and secure EC2 instances, container workloads, and other native AWS services to sustain continuous operations. - Author and execute infrastructure-as-code using CloudFormation stacks and Terraform scripts, and manage resources across regions and accounts. - Configure and operate connectivity (Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPNs), KMS encryption, and logging through CloudWatch and CloudTrail. - Build and support CI/CD pipelines with AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins, and manage containerized deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Fargate. - Administer data and storage services such as Amazon S3, RDS, and PostgreSQL, while tuning performance with observability tooling like DataDog, Kibana, and Elasticsearch.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in application development, maintenance, or application administration. - 3–5 years maintaining AWS infrastructure and 5+ years working with DevOps tooling. - 5+ years supporting applications running on AWS, with strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell. - Hands-on experience with Git-based workflows, Agile delivery, and cross-team collaboration on large projects. - Bachelor's degree in a technical field. - Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance, and U.S. residency for 3 of the past 5 years.
