Staff DevOps Engineer

Role overview Own infrastructure delivery and IT operations automation across customer and internal environments. The work combines Kubernetes-based deployments with asset, access, compliance, and audit reporting, including carefully governed use of AI agents connected to operational systems. The role is remote from anywhere in Europe and is structured as a contract.

Responsibilities - Take ownership of deployment paths spanning builds, images, Kubernetes clusters, secrets, and monitoring. - Define and maintain infrastructure with Terraform and Helm across managed customer clusters, on-premises k3s, and cloud Kubernetes environments. - Maintain CI/CD workflows in GitHub Actions and connect secrets and alerting to customer-selected systems. - Automate IT operations reporting for SaaS usage, access logs, compliance evidence, and asset inventories. - Build and govern MCP integrations that let AI agents query operational systems, setting clear access limits and review controls. - Create durable runbooks and solve operational problems that cross systems owned by different teams.

Requirements - Strong infrastructure and operations problem-solving across changing, multi-system environments. - Ability to build and maintain Kubernetes deployments, infrastructure definitions, and CI/CD workflows. - Sound judgment on secrets management, monitoring, alert routing, and access controls. - Ability to automate operational data collection and produce useful compliance and audit reporting. - Careful security judgment when exposing systems to AI agents, including deciding what should remain read-only or inaccessible. - Clear written and verbal communication, including documentation others can follow during incidents.
