Senior 3D Visualization and Animation Technical Artist

Role overview Lead technical and creative collaboration on 3D photography, 4D video capture, and realistic animation prototypes. The work combines hands-on computer graphics knowledge with coordination across research and art teams, helping turn demanding production requirements into high-quality visual results. This is a one-year fixed-term position based in Culver City, California.

Responsibilities - Work with research and artist teams to define requirements for complex 3D animation projects. - Help deliver visualization prototypes for advanced 3D and 4D content creation. - Maintain clear technical documentation of research and development work. - Share practices and technical insights with art and research colleagues. - Lead creative discussions, resolve production challenges, and identify ways to improve quality. - Support efficient communication between talent and technical crew during capture and production.

Requirements - A bachelor’s degree in art, film, communications, or a related field. - At least five years of practical 3D graphics or animation experience. - Experience with photorealistic computer-generated content workflows in entertainment, games, film, or a related area. - Familiarity with character animation workflows, including blendshapes, rigging, and hair or garment simulation. - Familiarity with 3D tools such as Maya, Unreal Engine, or Blender, as well as shaders, materials, and rendering. - Strong analytical and communication skills, plus authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have - A master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. - Research and development skills and awareness of emerging computer graphics methods. - Practical experience modeling and texturing human characters. - Familiarity with Unity, Marmoset, Python, or MEL scripting.

Benefits and work setup Eligible fixed-term employees scheduled for at least 30 hours per week may receive medical, dental, vision, and long-term care options. Flexible remote or hybrid arrangements may be available, along with vacation, paid holidays, sick leave, Summer Fridays, and a winter break, subject to business needs. The stated annual base salary range is $140,000–$155,000.
