Role overview
The Cloud Security Engineer designs, automates, and operates secure, production-grade infrastructure for customer environments across major cloud platforms. The role combines architecture, platform engineering, container operations, security, compliance, and advanced technical support, with a strong focus on reliability and operational maturity.
Responsibilities
- Partner with architecture and development teams to build highly available cloud environments for internal and external deployments. - Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure platforms and supporting internal tools. - Provide advanced technical support for internal teams, customers, and partners, including investigation of integration and implementation issues. - Guide customers on cloud deployment patterns and act as a subject-matter expert for infrastructure supporting core products. - Perform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, maintenance planning, and on-call process improvements. - Document operating procedures, best practices, and lessons learned, and feed implementation insights back to development teams.
Requirements
- At least six years of information technology experience, including infrastructure or platform automation. - At least four years engineering and supporting containerized environments, including Kubernetes or OpenShift and Docker. - At least four years working with one or more major cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP. - Experience delivering end-to-end cloud solutions from detailed architecture documents and translating customer needs into new infrastructure. - Strong networking fundamentals and practical knowledge of security and compliance controls for SOC 2, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 environments. - Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation, plus troubleshooting escalations and documenting operational knowledge.
Nice to have
Professional cloud certifications are preferred. Experience managing customer environments and optimizing infrastructure for high-velocity software teams is valuable.
