About this role
Role overview
Own the software integration layer that connects industrial facility systems with a cloud application. You’ll build and operate reliable data pipelines for a live enterprise deployment, where accurate, continuous data flow supports day-to-day operations in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities - Design and maintain production pipelines that bring time-series data from industrial historians, control systems, and enterprise platforms into cloud services. - Build APIs and event-driven integrations with appropriate fault tolerance, retries, and detection of missing data. - Monitor pipeline health and take responsibility for uptime and data integrity. - Work with customer IT and operational technology teams to address access, security, networking, and change management requirements. - Make architectural decisions and deliver the integration work independently, coordinating directly with technical and company leadership.
Requirements - 6–8 years of backend software engineering experience, including production integrations between industrial systems and cloud or web applications. - A track record of maintaining systems where uptime and data integrity are essential. - Strong API design skills and experience with REST or event-driven integrations. - Experience designing fault-tolerant, scalable pipelines for time-series data. - Proficiency in at least two of C#/.NET, Python, Java, or Go, and production experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Experience integrating enterprise platforms and working with large organizations’ IT and OT teams.
Nice to have
Experience with industrial historians such as AVEVA PI, OSIsoft PI, or similar; protocols such as OPC-UA, OPC-DA, MQTT, or Modbus; OT network security models; or process industries including oil and gas, petrochemicals, and power generation. Customer-facing deployment experience is also useful.
