Role overview
An embedded AI engineering role focused on applying large language models and modern AI tooling to real business problems across go-to-market and general administrative functions. The engineer sits inside a single department, partners directly with functional leadership, and translates emerging AI capabilities into shipped automations, prototypes, and process reinventions. The position reports to senior AI transformation leadership while remaining accountable to the host function for execution.
Responsibilities
- Partner with department leaders to shape an AI adoption roadmap and act as the in-house expert on what is currently feasible - Map the operational jobs-to-be-done within the function and identify where AI can replace, augment, or reinvent existing workflows - Build AI-powered solutions end-to-end, from orchestration setup and prompt design through evaluation and handoff - Define, own, and report on measurable KPIs tied to business value delivered through AI - Collaborate with peer AI engineers to develop shared knowledge bases, data foundations, and reusable patterns across functions - Evangelize applied AI internally through demos, proofs of concept, and pragmatic guidance that cuts through hype
Requirements
- Demonstrated track record building AI systems using orchestration platforms, configuration files, and prompt management tooling - Hands-on experience with LLM design patterns such as retrieval-augmented generation and prompt tuning (model training is not expected) - Proficiency in an AI-first programming language, with Python or TypeScript cited as preferred - Track record of rapid prototyping, proof-of-concept delivery, and integration of external AI services via APIs - Prior examples of producing measurable business value through applied AI - Comfort working inside SaaS-style environments and collaborating closely with non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
- Familiarity with SaaS or healthcare industry contexts - Understanding of marketing operations and standard workflow patterns - Hands-on experience with workflow automation tools such as n8n or Zapier
