Role overview
Execute essential operational and technical workflows across the commercial insurance policy lifecycle while supporting service teams. The role is highly detail-oriented and volume-driven, requiring accurate records, consistent documentation, timely processing, and adherence to defined service standards. It is suitable for someone entering commercial insurance as well as an experienced insurance professional developing expertise in an operations support function.
Responsibilities
- Process policy transactions including new business, renewals, endorsements, audits, cancellations, and reinstatements. - Support assigned direct-bill and agency-bill activities and help maintain accurate billing information. - Review carrier policies, invoices, and notices, then enter and update information accurately in the policy-management system. - Maintain policy records, activities, attachments, naming conventions, and documentation according to established standards. - Produce Certificates of Insurance, Evidence of Property documents, and Auto ID cards using the designated service and policy systems. - Record daily work, meet quality and volume expectations, complete workflows within turnaround SLAs, and participate in process documentation updates.
Requirements
- Commercial insurance experience is not required; previous insurance experience may be helpful for candidates transitioning into operations. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. - Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn Applied EPIC and related internal systems. - Ability to follow structured procedures while maintaining high data accuracy and documentation integrity. - Comfort working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. - Reliable organization, time management, accountability, and willingness to escalate issues appropriately.
