Forward Deployed Engineer

Role overview A venture-backed construction-data company is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with strategic customers and translate their hardest problems into production software. The role spans the full loop: customer discovery, rapid prototyping, rigorous validation, and shipping reliable code that becomes a reusable part of the platform. Engineers pair with AI agents as part of the daily workflow, working remotely within the U.S.

Responsibilities - Embed directly with strategic customers to learn their business context, data, and workflows - Explore messy public-record datasets and prototype solutions that prove out quickly - Engineer validated prototypes into production systems, owning the technical solution end-to-end - Turn field learnings into reusable components of the shared platform - Validate rigorously that solutions actually work before they ship, and iterate after launch - Work alongside AI agents as a regular part of the engineering loop

Requirements - Production engineering experience with the ability to take code from prototype to running reliably in production - Comfort working shoulder-to-shoulder with external customers on ambiguous, messy problems - Strong data-exploration skills, especially with unstructured, real-world datasets - A self-directed ownership mindset, not a hand-off to another team for productionization - U.S.-based, working remote

Nice to have - Background in data platforms, ETL pipelines, or unstructured-data cleanup - Familiarity with public records, geospatial, or permitting-style data - Prior experience using AI-agent-assisted workflows in engineering
