Staff Software Engineer - Full Stack

Role overview

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join a full-stack platform team building large-scale, distributed enterprise applications. The role is remote and based in India, focused on owning architecture and technical direction while staying deeply hands-on with code. You will shape engineering standards, mentor peers, and apply modern AI-assisted tooling to deliver high-quality, secure, and reliable services.

Responsibilities

- Own architecture and technical direction for large-scale, distributed enterprise applications. - Design and develop scalable, secure, and highly available backend services primarily in Python, with contributions to Java-based services. - Drive architectural decisions, technical strategy, and engineering standards across teams. - Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance. - Champion software craftsmanship through clean architecture, automated testing, security, observability, and operational excellence. - Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development and improve quality, while continuously improving developer experience, automation, and reliability.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field with 8+ years of professional software engineering experience. - Strong expertise in Python backend development with solid working knowledge of Java. - Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and REST APIs. - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, Linux, observability, and application security. - Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, messaging systems, caching, and asynchronous processing. - Proven ability to use modern AI development tools while maintaining high standards for quality and security, plus strong communication and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

- Experience with React and TypeScript, GraphQL, or enterprise SaaS platforms. - Exposure to AI or LLM-powered applications, developer productivity platforms, or open-source contributions.
