Role overview A research team building production-grade AI for the insurance industry is hiring an Artificial Intelligence Researcher for its "Agentic Claims" squad. The work centers on designing, evaluating, and deploying Generative AI and agentic systems that automate and improve claim handling for insurers worldwide. The position spans research through industrialization, with close collaboration across product, engineering, and data teams.
Responsibilities - Track the state of the art in Generative AI and agentic architectures, including LLMs, multimodal models, tool-augmented agents, and agentic workflows. - Design, prototype, and rigorously evaluate specialized AI agents for end-to-end insurance workflows. - Translate business problems into robust agentic systems, covering task decomposition, context and prompt design, tool integration, memory strategies, and evaluation methodology. - Own AI systems from problem formulation and benchmarking through production deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. - Contribute to internal frameworks, benchmarks, and shared tooling that accelerate experimentation and industrialization of agentic workflows. - Partner with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure scalability and measurable business impact.
Requirements - PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related field. - At least three years of hands-on experience designing and deploying AI systems, with strong exposure to Generative AI and LLM-based architectures. - Practical experience with prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, tool-augmented agents, and systematic evaluation of AI systems. - Proficiency in Python and modern AI frameworks such as Microsoft Agent Framework, OpenAI Agents SDK, and LangGraph, plus comfort using coding agents like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Codex. - Autonomous, rigorous approach to solving complex, high-impact real-world problems. - Business-fluent English, the company's working language.
Nice to have - Fluency in French. - Experience deploying AI agents in production environments. - Background with multimodal models or AI-based document understanding. - Proficiency in C#. - Prior experience in the insurance industry. - Proximity to the Paris region, given full remote flexibility across France.
