Responsibilities
- Monitor transactions and customer accounts to surface suspicious or fraudulent activity. - Use fraud detection tools and techniques to identify emerging trends and patterns. - Lead in-depth investigations into suspected fraud, gathering evidence and documenting findings. - Query large datasets with SQL to identify anomalies and behavior patterns linked to fraudulent activity. - Develop and implement fraud prevention rules, strategies, and controls. - Track industry developments, new fraud typologies, and emerging prevention technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as economics, computer science, analytics, or a related discipline. - At least two years of experience in fraud detection, prevention, or investigation. - At least two years of hands-on experience with SQL and Python. - Working knowledge of common fraud typologies including account takeover, identity theft, and payment fraud. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. - Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting. - Demonstrated experience using large language model tools to enhance research, productivity, or communication.
Nice to have
- Background in fintech, payments, lending, banking, or another financial institution. - Degree in statistics, math, finance, economics, or another quantitative discipline; a graduate degree is a plus. - Familiarity with dedicated fraud detection platforms.
