Role overview
This senior role functions as the executive intervention capability for the most strategically significant public sector customer engagements. The position blends executive relationship management with deep cybersecurity technical acumen, leading complex customer recoveries and helping large government accounts realize full platform value. Unlike traditional customer success or technical account management roles, the incumbent is deployed only when executive-level engagement is required, becoming the primary executive partner for the customer and the accountable owner inside the organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary executive partner for high-stakes public sector accounts, building trusted relationships with CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, executive sponsors, architects, and operational leaders. - Take executive ownership of customer situations escalated through early warning systems, critical accounts programs, crisis management channels, executive escalations, or senior leadership direction. - Lead customer strategy temporarily over the existing account team until the engagement reaches a successful resolution, ideally culminating in a renewal and a clean transition back to the standard operating model. - Develop and own executive recovery and success plans that define technical milestones, executive engagement plans, commercial strategy, value realization objectives, and clear exit criteria. - Lead technical recovery efforts for major incidents, platform outages, deployment challenges, architecture reviews, competitive technical evaluations, and security operations concerns. - Align product, engineering, technical support, and account leadership around a single unified strategy to maximize customer value and drive long-term outcomes.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in customer success, technical account management, professional services, or a comparable customer-facing leadership discipline. - Strong cybersecurity technical credibility with the ability to diagnose complex problems, challenge assumptions, and guide solution strategy. - Demonstrated ability to engage credibly with C-level executives, security architects, and engineering leaders during high-pressure situations. - Track record of leading cross-functional teams through complex, multi-threaded customer engagements. - Experience managing executive escalations, major incidents, or enterprise-scale technical recoveries. - Background working with public sector or government customers.
