Role overview
Provide senior-level technical leadership to enterprise customers operating demanding, high-performance distributed database environments. This post-sale role owns complex implementations, migrations, upgrades, performance work, and escalations while serving as a trusted advisor and helping raise technical standards across the customer engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical advisor for customer accounts with moderate to high complexity. - Independently lead deployments, migrations, upgrades, health reviews, and performance optimization initiatives. - Review application architecture, query behavior, driver configuration, infrastructure sizing, replication, and operational practices. - Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, adoption opportunities, and production issues before they affect customers. - Lead modernization and migration projects involving Cassandra, DynamoDB, or comparable distributed database platforms. - Mentor other customer engineers and contribute troubleshooting guides, playbooks, architectural guidance, and enablement materials. - Partner with customer success, sales, solutions engineering, product, and engineering teams on account health and product improvements.
Requirements
- Deep practical experience with distributed databases and production-scale systems. - Strong architectural judgment and a hands-on approach to diagnosing and solving complex technical problems. - Experience leading customer-facing implementations, migrations, performance investigations, or production escalations. - Ability to communicate effectively with enterprise technical teams and build trusted advisory relationships. - Capability to coach peers and turn recurring technical challenges into repeatable processes or automation.
