Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Role overview Lead customer-facing deployments of applied AI, from finding valuable business problems to building and launching reliable software in production. The work combines technical discovery, hands-on engineering, architecture, and operational ownership. You will coordinate delivery across customer teams, software, infrastructure, and AI agents, and help raise the technical standard of the deployment team.

Responsibilities - Turn discovery with business and technical stakeholders into sequenced plans with measurable outcomes. - Build production AI systems, agent workflows, data pipelines, integrations, and supporting services. - Configure agent context, tools, permissions, evaluations, observability, and safeguards. - Make architecture decisions across models, retrieval, APIs, data stores, cloud services, and customer systems. - Define evaluation suites and production measures for quality, reliability, security, latency, adoption, and cost. - Coordinate releases and handover, resolve complex production issues, lead incident response, mentor engineers, and communicate trade-offs and risks.

Requirements - At least six years of professional software engineering experience, including responsibility for production systems. - Advanced Python skills and strong experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, or another production language. - Hands-on experience delivering AI, machine learning, data-intensive, or automation products into production. - Strong systems design skills across APIs, SQL and NoSQL data stores, cloud infrastructure, security, and observability. - Practical knowledge of LLM patterns such as retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, structured outputs, evaluations, and agent orchestration. - Experience leading technical discovery with senior customer stakeholders, plus the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings and deliver maintainable systems.
