Role overview
This position sits at the intersection of customer-facing engineering and applied AI deployment. The engineer translates real operational problems into production-grade software and AI-driven workflows, working closely with customers while configuring an AI agent harness and an internal orchestration platform. It is a hands-on role for someone comfortable moving between discovery, coding, data, deployment, and customer conversations.
Responsibilities
- Partner with customers, solution architects, and senior engineers to convert operational pain points into clear technical workflows. - Build and maintain applied AI applications, agents, automations, and integrations using Python and TypeScript. - Configure context, tools, permissions, evaluations, and guardrails within the agent harness. - Deploy, observe, and refine customer solutions through the engineering orchestration platform. - Connect models and agents to APIs, databases, enterprise applications, and customer data sources. - Produce production-quality code along with tests, documentation, and runbooks for owned workflows. - Triage incidents and support requests, resolving defects with appropriate guidance. - Track quality, reliability, latency, and cost metrics, then drive practical improvements.
Requirements
- Three or more years of professional software, data, or machine learning engineering experience. - Production-level Python plus working knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript. - Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs, databases, and third-party services. - Working knowledge of SQL and modern cloud development practices. - Familiarity with large language models, retrieval, tool calling, prompt design, or agentic workflows. - Comfort debugging unfamiliar systems and explaining technical decisions to customers and teammates. - Degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
