Role overview
An intermediate forward deployed engineering role focused on turning customer operational problems into production software and applied AI workflows. The engineer configures and extends an AI agent harness and uses an internal orchestration platform to integrate customer systems. The position suits someone who can move fluidly between discovery, coding, data, deployment, and customer conversations.
Responsibilities
- Work with customers, solution architects, and senior engineers to understand operational problems and translate them into clear technical workflows. - Build and maintain applied AI applications, agents, automations, and integrations using Python and TypeScript. - Configure context, tools, permissions, evaluations, and guardrails within the agent harness. - Deploy, observe, and improve customer solutions through the engineering orchestration platform. - Connect models and agents to APIs, databases, enterprise applications, and customer data sources. - Deliver production-quality code, tests, documentation, and runbooks for owned workflows. - Investigate incidents, triage support requests, and resolve defects with guidance. - Measure workflow quality, reliability, latency, and cost, then implement practical improvements.
Requirements
- Three or more years of professional software, data, or machine learning engineering experience. - Production experience with Python and working knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript. - Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs, databases, and third-party services. - Working knowledge of SQL and modern cloud development practices. - Familiarity with large language models, retrieval, tool calling, prompt design, or agentic workflows. - Ability to debug unfamiliar systems and explain technical decisions to customers and teammates. - Degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
