Role overview
Own substantial portions of the frontend architecture for internal web applications supporting sales and operational workflows across the vehicle purchasing lifecycle. This is a hands-on staff-level engineering role focused on scalable, usable, maintainable products for order management, customer operations, fulfillment, finance, and related business functions.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop performant frontend applications for complex operational workflows. - Establish and promote engineering practices covering accessibility, security, testing, performance, and maintainability. - Make informed decisions about frameworks, tooling, and component architecture to preserve long-term code health. - Partner with product, design, backend, platform, and business teams to deliver practical, coherent user experiences. - Lead large technical initiatives from discovery through launch, while modernizing existing platforms and improving reliability. - Mentor engineers, help calibrate the team, and contribute to engineering culture and technical direction. - Evaluate AI-assisted development tools and help establish effective team practices for their use.
Requirements
- Strong experience delivering production-quality frontend software for web platforms. - Ability to take ownership of architecture and technical decisions in a complex, transactional domain. - Demonstrated judgment balancing usability, scalability, maintainability, and delivery needs. - Experience collaborating across engineering, product, design, and operational stakeholder groups. - Capability to lead ambiguous, high-impact technical projects while remaining hands-on.

The stated base salary range is $165,000–$200,000, or $181,500–$220,000 for California.
