About this role

Role overview Serve as a technical leader building AI-enabled and full-stack products for scientific data and laboratory workflows. This principal-level position combines hands-on engineering with architectural direction, technical mentoring, and close collaboration across product and engineering disciplines. The work is suited to someone who enjoys shaping systems and teams in a fast-moving environment with substantial autonomy.

Responsibilities - Lead the design and delivery of full-stack capabilities that help organize, connect, and work with complex biotech data. - Make architectural and technology decisions across application services, AI systems, APIs, and data workflows. - Design and build AI pipelines using large language models and agentic patterns for practical laboratory or research use cases. - Establish sound approaches to microservices, scalability, reliability, and maintainability. - Work across engineering and product teams to turn ambiguous problems into clear technical solutions. - Mentor engineers, guide implementation quality, and provide technical leadership on challenging initiatives.

Requirements - Strong professional experience delivering complex software systems across backend and frontend layers. - Proficiency with technologies such as Python, Java, React, and JavaScript, as reflected in the role’s technical requirements. - Good understanding of agentic AI architectures and how to build production-oriented LLM pipelines. - Solid grasp of microservices and associated engineering practices. - Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to guide teams from the front. - Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment with fluid priorities and broadly defined responsibilities.

Nice to have - Experience with data engineering and orchestration.
