Senior Software Engineer

Role overview Build and improve full-stack features for an online peer-learning platform used by learners and tutors. You’ll work closely with users, a designer, and other stakeholders, taking ideas from early experiments through launch and iteration. The work spans user experience, platform operations, and tools that help keep learning interactions safe and useful.

Responsibilities - Identify user problems with teammates and contribute product ideas and solutions. - Lead feature work from prototypes and experiments through deployment. - Break ambiguous projects into manageable tasks and coordinate contributions where needed. - Write clear, maintainable code and improve patterns that make future development easier. - Help teammates improve through code reviews and pairing.

Requirements - At least three years of full-stack software engineering experience, including leading projects from an unclear starting point through launch and iteration. - Ability to weigh speed, quality, and user experience, and anticipate project risks. - Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, and Postgres, or the ability to learn the stack quickly. - A user-focused approach and ability to work independently while asking for help when needed. - Availability to work in a U.S. time zone.

Nice to have - Deeper experience with the listed stack and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP. - Mobile app development or education technology experience.
