Role overview
This is a long-term opportunity for a hands-on Python Engineer to join a multi-workstream engagement with a well-established European investment organization that has managed multi-billion euro assets for over three decades and is now investing in AI-driven innovation. The role centers on building and extending an AI-powered internal platform already in production, collaborating directly with in-house analysts, portfolio managers, and risk specialists across several parallel sub-projects. The position involves end-to-end ownership, from architectural design through production deployment, with substantial influence on technical decisions and visible business impact.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend APIs using Python on AWS Lambda, including OpenAPI specifications for serverless endpoints. - Develop and maintain data models and schema migrations on PostgreSQL hosted in AWS RDS. - Provision and manage AWS infrastructure with Terraform (ALB, RDS, Lambda, S3) and collaborate on CI/CD pipelines using GitLab. - Integrate generative AI services via Amazon Bedrock to support features such as document processing, summarization, and chat-based assistants for internal users. - Build decision-making automation workflows and contribute to LLM integrations for internal tooling. - Take part in code reviews, architectural planning, and agile ceremonies while applying best practices in testing, version control, and security.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience as a Python engineer with strong serverless and AWS background. - Hands-on expertise with AWS Lambda, API Gateway (or equivalent), Amazon S3, and Amazon Bedrock. - Solid experience with PostgreSQL on AWS RDS, including schema design and migrations. - Proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code patterns for AWS resources. - Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and DevOps collaboration. - Self-sufficient, communicative mindset, comfortable working directly with domain experts and participating in technical decision-making.
Nice to have
- Experience integrating LLM models or building chat-based assistants for internal audiences. - Background in financial services, investment, or risk management domains. - Exposure to multi-project environments where context switching between workstreams is part of the routine.
Benefits and work setup
- Fully remote working model with a flexible schedule. - Medical insurance coverage. - Paid vacations, paid sick leave, and paid state holidays. - Structured employee development plans, personal roadmaps, and a fast-track promotion path. - Internal-first career growth, with the majority of current executives having been promoted from within.
