SOC Analyst

Role overview A SOC Analyst role within a Security Operations team protecting the information systems of an online gaming and sports betting organization. The position focuses on monitoring security tooling, triaging alerts, responding to incidents, and improving detection coverage across the environment.

Responsibilities - Monitor SIEM and related security platforms, reviewing logs, events, and alerts for suspicious or anomalous activity. - Investigate and classify alerts, eliminate false positives, correlate activity with known attack patterns, and prioritize confirmed incidents by severity and impact. - Execute incident response playbooks, create and continuously improve documentation, and support forensic investigations and evidence collection. - Participate in vulnerability management activities and collaborate with internal stakeholders on threat mitigation. - Tune detection rules, identify coverage gaps, and recommend or implement improvements to monitoring systems. - Document incidents, findings, and remediation steps in detailed reports.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 2+ years in a cybersecurity role with hands-on SOC process experience. - Relevant certifications such as GSEC, GCIH, CompTIA, BTL1, or BTL2. - Practical experience with SIEM management, vulnerability scanners, and XDR tools. - Knowledge of network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, and core protocols. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have - Familiarity with the ITIL framework.
