Quality Assurance Engineer

Role overview

A B2B SaaS software company is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer to help ship dependable products across web, mobile, and API surfaces. The role blends hands-on manual testing with building automated checks, working alongside engineers to catch defects early and strengthen the overall testing process.

Responsibilities

- Review product requirements and translate them into clear acceptance criteria and test plans - Design and run functional, regression, integration, and exploratory tests across web, mobile, and API products - File detailed defect reports with reproducible steps and supporting evidence, then verify fixes and watch for recurring issues - Build and maintain automated UI or API tests as part of the team's quality toolkit - Participate in release planning and readiness reviews, contributing to go/no-go decisions - Maintain test documentation, environments, and test data while partnering with developers to improve testability - Communicate quality risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

- 2+ years of experience in software QA or testing roles - Hands-on experience testing web, mobile, or API-based applications - Solid grasp of test design techniques and defect-management workflows - Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Postman, or browser developer tools - Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving ability - Clear written communication

Nice to have

- Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium - Programming background in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, SQL, or performance testing - An ISTQB or comparable testing certification

Benefits and work setup

Compensation is in the $70,000 to $90,000 annual range, depending on experience. The position is remote-first, with opportunities to work across modern testing and automation tooling in a collaborative engineering culture.
