AI-Enabled Software Engineer

Role overview

This is a hands-on software engineering role for someone who uses AI deeply while retaining responsibility for architecture, quality, and outcomes. You will build useful software quickly, connect technical decisions to real business needs, and turn early prototypes into dependable systems. The work suits an engineer who is comfortable moving from an ambiguous problem to a working first version and then improving it thoughtfully.

Responsibilities

- Design and ship software that addresses concrete operational or business problems. - Use AI coding tools, custom prompts, agents, scripts, and development harnesses to increase speed and leverage. - Review, test, and refine generated code rather than treating AI output as finished software. - Make sound decisions about architecture, maintainability, edge cases, and second-order effects. - Translate loosely defined needs into practical solutions without waiting for every requirement to be pre-specified. - Iterate from a fast initial version toward a more robust and useful product.

Requirements

- Strong software engineering fundamentals and a track record of delivering working systems. - Deep practical experience with AI-assisted development workflows and a clear understanding of their strengths and limitations. - Ability to work independently through ambiguity, make trade-offs, and keep momentum without sacrificing judgment. - Enough business fluency to understand the problem being solved and avoid building technically impressive but unnecessary machinery. - Care for testing, reliability, maintainability, and the consequences of technical decisions. - Evidence of hands-on work, such as a GitHub portfolio, scripts, local tooling, or other artifacts that show how you build.
