Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Role overview Help scale and strengthen a backend API used by applications for farm and field management, marketplace transactions, orders, payments, and administration. The work includes fixing defects, adding features, and improving the reliability and security of the services that those applications depend on.

Responsibilities - Fix bugs and implement features in a Node.js and Express API backed by MongoDB. - Improve endpoint performance, error handling, and security. - Add automated tests for the behavior changed. - Keep technical documentation accurate and current. - Handle user and transaction data carefully.

Requirements - Experience with Node.js and a database through a job, internship, or personal project. - Familiarity with REST APIs and authentication. - Ability to write tests and work with an existing codebase. - Careful approach to data involving real people and financial transactions. - Availability to contribute a few hours each week on a consistent basis.
