Role overview This is a remote leadership role managing a small algorithms team responsible for the pricing and forecasting engine behind a hotel revenue management product. The manager focuses on people, delivery, and connection to product goals while staying technically credible through design and code review. The position partners closely with Product to shape what gets built and drives engineering improvements across the wider product organization.
Responsibilities - Lead a team spanning pricing algorithms, forecasting models, and data pipelines, owning delivery, quality, and operational health of pricing runs - Grow engineers through regular one-on-ones, feedback, performance reviews, and career development - Hire, onboard, and develop engineers to keep the team balanced and strong - Partner with Product, push back on direction, and bring a clear point of view to what gets built - Translate business goals into engineering plans with measurable outcomes and realistic timelines, using backtesting and quality signals to guide prioritization - Balance delivery velocity with technical sustainability, addressing debt, scalability, and reliability as part of delivery - Provide technical oversight through design and code review, stepping in hands-on when the team needs it - Drive engineering process improvements and operational excellence at the department level
Requirements - Strong software engineering background with a track record of leadership - Experience managing or mentoring engineers in a high-performing team - Technically credible and willing to get hands-on when the team needs it - Comfort with Python and Django on the backend - Exposure to data stacks such as Snowflake, dbt, and Dagster - Background in forecasting, modeling, or data engineering is a strong plus - Strong grasp of system design, architecture, and engineering best practices - Excellent communication and leadership skills with a servant-leadership mindset - Fluent in English and based in a European time zone between UTC+0 and UTC+2
