Role overview
Staff Cloud Architect leading the technical strategy and end-to-end architecture of complex systems spanning cloud, data, and AI. The position serves as a senior delivery-embedded technical authority, guiding major engagements, resolving difficult architecture problems, and helping teams build scalable, secure, reliable platforms. This is a six-month contract role.
Responsibilities
- Define technical strategy and architecture for complete engagements involving cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and AI/ML workloads. - Design scalable cloud-native, multi-cloud, or hybrid solutions across platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Kubernetes. - Architect data warehouses, lakes, and batch or streaming pipelines. - Design machine-learning platforms, model-serving systems, MLOps pipelines, feature stores, and LLM-based applications. - Set standards for infrastructure as code, CI/CD, DevOps, performance, reliability, cost management, security, governance, and compliance. - Lead cloud migration and platform-modernization initiatives while acting as an escalation point for complex technical challenges.
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing and delivering cloud architectures for complex systems or major technical engagements. - Ability to translate business goals into clear architectural decisions and communicate them to technical and non-technical audiences. - Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, data architecture, AI/ML systems, DevOps, reliability, and security concerns. - Experience establishing architecture standards, documentation, guidelines, and engineering best practices. - Demonstrated technical leadership, including mentoring engineers and coordinating across engineering, data, AI, product, leadership, and client stakeholders. - Ability to make sound decisions amid ambiguity, balancing scalability, security, cost, performance, and delivery constraints.
Nice to have
- Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Spark, Kafka, SageMaker, Vertex AI, MLflow, Hugging Face, Terraform, CloudFormation, or GitHub Actions. - Relevant cloud or architecture certifications, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or TOGAF. - Experience with regulated environments or requirements involving GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
Benefits and work setup
