About this role
About Rimini Street, Inc. Rimini Street, Inc. (Nasdaq: RMNI), a Russell 2000® Company, is a global provider of end-to-end enterprise software support, products and services, the leading third-party support provider for Oracle and SAP software and a Salesforce and AWS partner. The Company has operations globally and offers a comprehensive family of unified solutions to run, manage, support, customize, configure, connect, protect, monitor, and optimize enterprise application, database, and technology software. To date, over 5,300 Fortune 500, Fortune Global 100, midmarket, public sector, and other organizations from a broad range of industries have relied on Rimini Street as their trusted enterprise software solutions provider. We are actively seeking an Principal SAP Integration Architect . This is a remote role based in Brazil. Position Summary The Principal SAP Integration Architect owns the integration layer between Rimini Street's Agentic ERP Platform and SAP enterprise systems. The primary focus is SAP ECC and Enhancement Packages (EHP 5–8), which represent the core of Rimini Street's SAP client base. This role designs and builds the connectors, data mappings, and transaction flows that enable AI agents to read from and write to SAP environments safely and reliably. Reporting to the VP, Platform Engineering, this lead combines deep SAP ECC domain knowledge with modern integration engineering skills. The ideal candidate understands SAP system architectures, BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, and data models at a level that allows them to design agent-safe integration patterns—defining which SAP operations become AI-consumable tools, handling transaction boundaries, and enforcing safe-write patterns across complex business processes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities SAP Integration Architecture Design and own the integration architecture between the Agentic ERP Platform and SAP ECC/EHP environments. Define the tool taxonomy for SAP: determine which BAPIs, RFCs, and transactions become agent-consumable tools, and in what shape. Design transaction boundary management: SAP LUW handling, commit/rollback strategies, concurrency controls, and data consistency guarantees for agent-initiated operations. Enforce the Park/Post pattern: every SAP write tool ships in safe (park/draft) and full (post/submit) variants, ensuring agents can stage changes for human review before committing. Implement the tiered autonomy progression for SAP tools: Read → Draft → Supervised → Autonomous, controlling which operations agents can execute at each trust level. Connector Development Build and maintain SAP system connectors that translate platform requests into BAPI/RFC calls, IDoc exchanges, or OData API interactions. Implement data validation and transformation logic specific to SAP data models, structures, and business rules. Design fallback mechanisms for integration path failures, including degraded-mode read-only access and queued write operations. Build connection management for SAP environments: SAP JCo connection pooling, credential handling, and multi-system landscape support. Domain Expertise & Guidance Serve as the SAP ECC subject matter expert for the engineering team, advising on SAP-specific constraints, capabilities, and best practices. Guide MCP Server Developers on SAP-specific tool implementations, schema design, and smart response patterns. Design test strategies for SAP integration: sandbox environments, data fixtures, and regression suites. Document SAP integration patterns, known limitations, and troubleshooting guides for the engineering team. Cross-functional Collaboration Collaborate with the Integration Lead (Oracle) to ensure consistent integration patterns and shared tooling across ERP platforms. Work with AI Data Engineers on SAP data extraction for knowledge pipelines and retrieval systems. Coordinate with QA Engineers on integration test coverage and validation strategies. Provide input to the Security & Identity Lead on SAP-specific authentication and authorization requirements (SAP roles, authorisation objects). Experience 12+ years of experience working with SAP systems, with deep knowledge of SAP ECC and Enhancement Packages. 8+ years of integration engineering

- Java 21 with Quarkus 3.x for connector and tool server development.
- RESTful API design and implementation.
- PostgreSQL for platform-side data operations.

- Transaction management: SAP LUW, commit/rollback strategies, idempotency, and concurrency handling.
- Git version control and CI/CD practices.
- Testing: integration test design, mock services, and contract testing.
- Preferred Experience with SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) or SAP Integration Suite.
- Knowledge of SAP Gateway and OData service development.

- Understanding of durable execution patterns (Restate or equivalent) for long-running integration workflows.
- Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and SAP HANA.
- SAP authorisation concepts: roles, profiles, and authorisation objects for secure integration design.
- S/4HANA awareness: API differences, compatibility layer, and migration considerations.
