Senior Software Engineer - Backend - Billing Team

Role overview A senior backend engineering role focused on the billing team of a live-streaming platform that helps content creators broadcast simultaneously to multiple destinations. The engineer will design and ship new services, expand backend APIs, and harden production infrastructure as the product scales.

Responsibilities - Develop and maintain features within web services that power live-streaming workflows - Design and implement backend APIs and the business logic that supports new and existing product capabilities - Participate in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback with teammates - Track emerging technologies and identify opportunities to apply them in the current environment - Improve the redundancy and resilience of production infrastructure

Requirements - Expert-level proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language - Strong database design experience across both relational and NoSQL systems such as Scylla or Redis - Hands-on experience building, testing, consuming, and supporting APIs for web services - Comfort working across AWS, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, continuous deployment pipelines, and polyglot stacks - Self-directed, analytical mindset with strong written and verbal communication, plus the ability to collaborate inside a small team

Nice to have - Familiarity with Node.js (TypeScript) or Rust - Basic front-end skills and exposure to modern front-end frameworks
