About this role

Role overview Build the systems that bring physical servers from a colocation facility into reliable production service, then make that foundation repeatable as the fleet grows. You’ll work across hardware, networking, and software automation, partnering with network and Kubernetes platform engineers to make physical capacity manageable through dependable internal tools and processes.

Responsibilities - Design automated server discovery, network boot, imaging, and identity workflows. - Coordinate with network engineers on management and production connectivity requirements. - Build tools for platform teams to request capacity, inspect host health, and coordinate maintenance. - Maintain an authoritative inventory of hardware, software, and site conditions. - Automate server acceptance, burn-in, remediation, firmware rollouts, and hardware returns. - Build safe, failure-tolerant automation and help shape platform operations, technical choices, and team growth.

Requirements - Experience building and operating automation for bare-metal fleets in datacenters or colocation facilities, including hands-on work with hardware and providers. - Strong Go or Python skills and experience with reconciliation loops, idempotency, and failure-tolerant actions. - Deep Linux knowledge, networking fundamentals such as DHCP, PXE, DNS, and BGP, and the ability to debug beyond tool abstractions. - Experience responding to operational failures, such as faulty hardware or interrupted rollouts. - Working knowledge of Kubernetes sufficient to design the interface between physical fleet management and clusters. - Clear communication, comfort with ambiguity, and sound technical judgment.

Nice to have Experience at fleet scale or in an early datacenter build-out; hybrid cloud operations; infrastructure inventory or provisioning tools; physical infrastructure state machines; hardware diagnostics, firmware, Redfish, or IPMI; internal platform APIs; or proximity to colocation sites.

Benefits and work setup Benefits include four weeks of paid vacation, 14 weeks of paid parental leave, health coverage, retirement and insurance plans, monthly lifestyle and connectivity stipends, learning support, and either commuter benefits or a home office stipend. New visa sponsorship is generally unavailable; existing visa transfers may be considered with business approval.
