Role overview This is a staff-level, client-embedded engineering leadership role focused on deploying AI-powered operational workflows inside health systems. The position leads a small forward-deployed team and partners with both internal R&D leadership and client operational, executive, and IT stakeholders to deliver measurable improvements in how hospitals run.
Responsibilities - Develop a deep understanding of client context and platform capabilities to identify high-leverage opportunities for AI Operational Assistant workflows. - Lead the design, execution, and ongoing optimization of bespoke AI use cases at the client site. - Build advanced conversational systems using LLM-based AI and agentic frameworks, applying techniques such as state machines, decision trees, and graph-based flows. - Integrate conversational agents with APIs, CRMs, and enterprise systems through custom scripts and external system connections. - Tune and improve agents using real user data, monitor for breakdowns, and run unit, regression, and A/B tests to safeguard performance. - Mentor cross-functional teammates, shape client use cases with solution consultants, and document conversation logic, prompt structures, and decision workflows.
Requirements - Five or more years of experience in product management, solution architecture, or comparable client-facing technical leadership roles. - Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels, including executive stakeholders. - Hands-on experience with agentic design, prompt engineering, and prompt architecture. - Proficiency as a coder comfortable shipping production-quality work. - Comfort working with dynamic objectives and iterating closely with end users. - Willingness to travel to client sites as needed, typically 25 to 50 percent.
Nice to have - Experience with voice-enabled conversational AI systems. - Knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation. - Experience applying knowledge graphs in AI agent workflows. - Prior work building AI agents or automated workflows in healthcare or other regulated industries. - Background in healthcare operations, medicine, or healthcare finance.
