Remote job
FPGA Design Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Develop and verify FPGA and programmable logic for a safety critical aerospace platform modernization. The work includes consolidating an existing radio frequency design for new hardware, modeling system performance, and supporting verification and certification activities under DO-254.
Responsibilities - Update the radio frequency FPGA design and its engineering artifacts as it moves from multiple devices to a single device, adapting interfaces for the new hardware architecture. - Build a MATLAB or Simulink model of the radio frequency input chain and FPGA data flow to assess system performance and verify requirements. - Contribute to input/output controller and power control PLD designs and supporting documentation. - Prepare hardware test procedure documentation using requirements and prior materials as references. - Support verification and validation, including static timing, clock domain, and fault injection analyses; help resolve findings with other engineers. - Assist with certification evidence, code coverage, inspections, and requirements traceability.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline. - Three to six years of FPGA design experience, including digital logic implementation and hardware interface integration. - Experience with VHDL or Verilog and FPGA verification, simulation, timing analysis, and debugging. - Experience using MATLAB or Simulink for modeling, simulation, or performance analysis. - Familiarity with DO-254 or another safety critical development standard. - Background supporting hardware certification through design reviews, traceability, and verification records.
Benefits and work setup - Remote role; candidates must be US citizens or US persons. - Listed salary range is $100,000–$125,000 USD, with the final package based on experience and certifications. - Benefits include medical, dental, life, and disability coverage, an employer matched 401(k), certification and professional development support, and a flexible workplace.
