Quality Engineer

Role overview

A quality engineering role focused on embedding quality into the software development lifecycle for a B2B real estate closing platform that brings together buyers, sellers, lenders, title and escrow agents, and real estate professionals on a shared digital workflow. The position centers on building automation frameworks, quality infrastructure, and performance testing systems that allow complex, AI-driven products to ship with confidence in a data-rich industry. Engineers operate with significant autonomy, collaborating closely with software teams and contributing to a high technical quality bar.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement core test automation frameworks, including leading a migration from Cypress to Playwright alongside the development of a performance testing framework - Conduct root cause analysis on product defects and test failures, triaging issues to determine whether the failure lies in the product, the test, or the environment before routing to the right owner - Tackle complex quality challenges spanning automation architecture and AI-assisted testing, driving projects from ideation through deployment and ongoing iteration - Collaborate closely with software engineers to deeply understand the systems under test and raise the quality bar across the broader team - Pursue impactful work with a high degree of autonomy, with responsibilities flexing based on organizational needs, individual skills, and interests

Requirements

- Three to five or more years of experience building and maintaining test automation for complex software systems - Strong programming ability in JavaScript and TypeScript, with comfort writing and maintaining production-grade automation code - Proven track record of designing, leading, and delivering large-scale, cross-functional quality initiatives - Comfort working as an engineering generalist who can move flexibly across test infrastructure, tooling, and product-level quality work

Nice to have

- Familiarity with Kubernetes and major cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud - Experience applying AI-assisted testing techniques or working on AI-driven product surfaces - Background contributing to performance testing frameworks beyond functional automation
