A B2B real estate closing technology platform is hiring a Quality Engineer to build the next layer of automation, tooling, and quality systems behind its AI-driven products. The role focuses on embedding quality into the engineering process rather than testing for it after the fact, owning technically challenging quality problems, and partnering closely with software engineers. The position is based in Austin, TX and centers on shipping complex, intelligent systems with confidence in a fast-changing domain.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of core test automation frameworks, including a migration from Cypress to Playwright - Build and scale the performance testing framework alongside broader quality infrastructure - Perform root cause analysis on product defects and test failures, triaging whether the issue sits in the product, the test, or the environment before routing to the right owner - Tackle the most demanding quality problems, from automation architecture to AI-assisted testing, driving projects from ideation through deployment and beyond - Collaborate deeply with software engineers and help raise the quality bar across the team - Operate as a generalist, with responsibilities flexing based on company needs as well as the engineer's skills and interests
Requirements
- Hands-on engineering experience designing and scaling test automation, quality infrastructure, or both - Practical familiarity with modern web automation frameworks, including the willingness to lead cross-framework migrations - Strong root cause analysis skills for triaging defects and test failures across product, test, and environment layers - Comfort working in AI-driven or data-rich product domains and shipping complex systems to production - Demonstrated ability to make sound automation design decisions independently, without close supervision - A collaborative mindset with the ability to partner effectively with software engineers and contribute to raising team-wide quality standards
